Town Madison’s newest dining option promises a five-star experience to local diners with the grand opening of J. Alexander’s first location in Alabama.

Located adjacent to Toyota Field, J. Alexander’s is a contemporary American restaurant renowned for its high quality, wood-fired cuisine. The menu features a wide selection of classics including prime rib, steaks, fresh seafood, sandwiches, and entrée salads.

Despite the monsoon brewing outside, J. Alexander’s grand opening and ribbon cutting generated considerable excitement and a sizable crowd–even before 10:30 AM, the restaurant already had 70 lunch reservations and 300 dinner reservations booked.

Standing next to Trash Pandas mascot Sprocket, Madison Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Epling kicked off the festivities by welcoming everyone to the grand opening, then introduced J. Alexander’s General Manager Ji UnSon.

“We’re very excited about being in your community with all of you. You made this community happen and we want to be an integral part of that,” UnSon said. “We look forward to building our relationship one by one, plate by plate, bite by bite…I guarantee you’re going to enjoy everything about the J. Alexander’s philosophy about service and food.”

Madison Mayor Paul Finley and Madison County Commissioner Dale Strong were also in attendance to welcome the city’s newest restaurant.

“I’m excited for you guys to have an official ribbon cutting. There’s so much excitement in Madison. As you said, the quality of restaurant that we’re all used to going to is now here in Town Madison and we can’t be any more excited about it. Thank you for your investment,” Finley said.

Finley also thanked Joey Cici and Louis Breland, “the team that keeps building and bringing these restaurants and places of quality–we’re really excited about all that’s happening here,” he continued, joking that it’s possible to see that excitement even in the torrential rain.

“This shows what the City of Madison can do, what you can do when you’ve got a vision. This right here just a couple years ago was a corn, cotton field, and let me tell you something right here–it’s just phenomenal to look out over Toyota Field,” Strong said.

“I had the opportunity to eat at J. Alexander’s many times in Nashville but I’m not going to have to travel 120 miles now to do it. We’re honored to have you in Town Madison.”
