December 22, 2021/in Community Development, Food/dining, News/by Noah Logan

Madison will soon be getting a taste of Honest Coffee Roasters. The local company recently announced that after five years of serving downtown Huntsville, they will be opening their second location on 92 Shorter Street in downtown Madison. The new 1,900 square foot shop, developed by Crunkleton, will arrive at The Avenue Madison in late Summer of 2022.

“WScreen Shot 2021 12 21 at 22.51.00e’ve been overwhelmed with the response from Huntsville since we opened in 2017,” said owner Christy Wimberly in an interview with HBJ.  “It’s been steady growth since we first arrived at The Garage and it seems like the market in Madison with the demographics there is an emerging coffee market.”

Honest Coffee Roasters first arrived in Huntsville in 2017 after a successful pop up across the street from their current Clinton Avenue location. Within five months, the shop expanded and doubled in size. Wimberly attributes the community of Huntsville for the constant success.

“Huntsville has an amazing community of coffee shop,” she said.  “It hasn’t necessarily been a competitive environment but one of shared ideas and values. Huntsville’s willingness to embrace local businesses was the only thing that saved us during the pandemic. Our community really rallied around us and it’s something I’m very thankful for.”

Honest Coffee Roasters sources it’s coffee from a roaster of the same name based in Franklin, Tennessee. The new location will also serve the same type of breakfast and lunch menu as the original. Guests will be able to enjoy items like acai bowls, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and a wide variety of pastries.
