Huntsville Championship Adds Patio Experience

January 14, 2022/in Community Development, Entertainment, Events, News, Sports/by Mike Easterling

The Korn Ferry Tour’s Huntsville Championship has added an attraction for patrons at this year’s golf tournament – the Michelob Ultra Patio.

Located near the 10th tee at the scenic The Ledges overlooking the city, the Patio will offer a variety of poolside amenities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase exclusive to the Patio.

Tickets for Patio admission are $30 daily and $100 for entry Thursday-Sunday. Currently, pandemic safety measures will be in place, including wearing masks indoors and outdoors.

The Korn Ferry Tour, previously the Web.com Tour, is considered the launching circuit to the PGA Tour. The four-day tournament is scheduled for April 28-May 1. Weeklong events include a pro-am April 27.

The first Huntsville Championship was originally scheduled for spring of 2020 but was canceled because of the pandemic, making last year’s tournament won by Frenchman Paul Barjon the inaugural event.

Volunteers are needed for 16 committees during tournament week. The $80 registration fee includes a golf polo, hat, jacket, weekly credential and complimentary food and beverage in the volunteer headquarters when not assigned to duties. Also, there’s an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party and a complimentary round of golf at the course on select days for anyone who completes at least two volunteer shifts.

“We hope to see another great group of volunteers support the Huntsville Championship at The Ledges during the 2022 Huntsville Championship,’’ tournament director Penn Garvich said when registration opened. “Whether you’re a golf enthusiast, passionate about sports, or wanting to be a part of a signature professional event in Huntsville, the Huntsville Championship offers a large variety of volunteer opportunities.

“In addition to volunteering, we encourage our volunteers and the Huntsville community to support the tournament’s charitable mission in giving through The Community Foundation of Huntsville. Let’s make year two even more memorable than year one.”
