The Peach Cobbler Factory: Coming Soon To Huntsville

January 31, 2022/in Community Development, Food, News, People/by Lori Connors

Coming soon to Huntsville’s ever-growing Southside, Nashville-based The Peach Cobbler Factory is close to selecting its near-future location.

“The Peach Cobbler Factory is a new business that I’m bringing to Huntsville, AL,” said franchise owner Celeste Otero. “It will be the first location in the entire state of Alabama.”

Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not just cobbler or just peach cobbler, for that matter. It’s so much more than that. Along with 12 types of cobbler, The Peach Cobbler Factory also features five flavors of banana pudding, a trio of taste-tempting cinnamon rolls, along with their signature “Peachy” tea.

One of The Peach Cobbler Factory’s most popular desserts is a unique hybrid of taste temptation: A cobbler-stuffed cinnamon roll.

There’s also an assortment of toppings to accompany those desserts: ice cream, sweetened pecans, caramel, praline, or the Cobbler Factory’s own special concoction, Cobbler Magic.

Along with serving up some of the best desserts around, The Peach Cobbler Factory also offers catering and delivery options.

The Peach Cobbler Factory got its start in Nashville in 2013 with owners/founders Tamira and Juan Edgerton. Displaced by hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Edgertons went back to some of their more traditional skill sets, such as cooking and baking, as a means to get back on their feet.

As a New Orleans transplant, Tamira had a longing for the kind of old-fashioned, homemade desserts made by her mom, grandmother, and aunties.

They used some of their family’s recipes to make cobbler to sell at the farmer’s market in Nashville. The desserts were so popular that each day, they would sell out.

“From there, just from having the cobbler stands in farmers market, they decided to open up a food truck out there,” said Otero. “Then later on, things just started growing and growing and developing and then they decided to make this a bigger project, a bigger venture.”

Along with putting their hearts and souls into the cobbler endeavor, the Edgertons believe that serving up high quality desserts as well as maintaining an exceptional level of customer service is, indeed, the backbone of their business enterprise.

In fact, the business has been so successful, the Edgertons expanded their business venture into the world of franchise management.

“And so here we are today, they’ve already opened up peach cobbler factories in Louisville, KY, and that’s their flagship location,” said Otera. “Then, they also opened up two other locations recently, one in Chattanooga, TN and another one in Savannah, GA.”

It’s a popular franchise opportunity that continues to grow. In just 90 days, the Peach Cobbler Factory has franchise deals for more than 30 new locations. In addition to the Huntsville location, The Peach Cobbler Factory has set up business in ten states, including California, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

“We’re bringing it to Huntsville, AL just because it’s a wonderful city,” said Otera. “It’s a growing city, it’s developing, it’s increasing, and we really were attracted to that.”
