Orion Amphitheater Announces New Additions to 2022 Line-Up

The Orion Amphitheater launches their inaugural summer season with a whole host of stars from local legends to the biggest names in country music.

Additional dates for Luke Bryan’s “Raised Up Right Tour” went on sale yesterday. Bryan has extended the tour to include a stop in the Rocket City on October 14. The “American Idol” judge released the sixth single from “Born Here Live Here Die Here” in late 2021. 

Tickets also go on sale today for blues-rock duo The Black Keys on August 28. Their “Dropout Boogie Tour,” supports of the tenth anniversary of the album “El Camino” and will include indie rock darlings Band of Horses.

Pre-sale is currently underway for Grammy winning blues-rock mainstays Dave Matthews Band. DMB have booked one Alabama stop for Wednesday, May 18, and goes on sale to the public February 25. Concertgoers will have the option to donate an additional $2 to The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees campaign. 

Tickets are already on sale for the First Waltz Weekend featuring Lauderdale County native Jason Isbell and Emmylou Harris on Friday, May 13. 

Isbell grew up playing multiple instruments including mandolin at age six, trumpet in high school and debuting alongside Chris Tompkins at the Grand Ole Opry at age 16.  

Saturday, May 14 sees Athens native Brittany Howard, Birmingham bred soul band St. Paul and the Broken Bones and 1999 Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame inductee Mavis Staples take the stage. 

Howard, the former lead singer of Alabama Shakes, released her Grammy winning debut solo album “Jaime” in late 2019 while St. Paul released their fourth album “The Alien Coast” on January 28 with ATO Records. 

The First Waltz Weekend concludes Sunday with the 2017 World Choir Winning Aeolians from nearby Oakwood University. Tickets for these shows start at $108.

Huntsville can also kick off the Memorial Day weekend with four time Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney on Thursday, May 26. Tickets start at $94.
