Rock the Vote 2022 to be held at Stovehouse

February 25, 2022/in Featured, Community Development, Events, Government, News/by Dawn Suiter

Mark your calendars! The Huntsville Committee of 100 YP, a local organization of civically engaged young professionals, has announced that it will host its semi-annual Rock the Vote event on April 24, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM at Stovehouse, located at 3414 Governors Drive in Huntsville.

Rock the Vote is a free event during which attendees will have the opportunity to meet local officials and candidates for upcoming local elections one-on-one, register to vote, and learn more about the district in which they reside.

“The 2022 Rock the Vote event is an effort to drive voter registration and engagement,” said Rock the Vote committee co-chair Caroline Kennedy. “We want North Alabama constituents to feel connected to the election process by meeting their elected officials and candidates for office. Our goal is to empower Alabama residents to learn who governs our area and how to get involved, and we do this in a fun, social atmosphere that brings people together.”

Rock the Vote 2022 is the only official Rock the Vote event in Alabama. The Huntsville Committee of 100 YP group has hosted this event every other year since 2008.

Rock the Vote 2020 garnered an overwhelmingly positive community response with over 500 attendees and dozens of candidates participating. With the pandemic waning, this year’s event is expected to be even larger.

“This year, we’ll be hosting our eighth Rock the Vote social. The cooperative spirit of Rock the Vote works to further our mission of serving as a catalyst for young leaders through collaboration, training, and civic engagement,” said John Allen, CEO of Committee of 100.
