Doster Construction Company is breaking ground again in Huntsville in more ways than one

May 23, 2022/in News, Community Development, Construction, Housing/by Mike Easterling

Doster will soon introduce HQ at Upland Park, a unique four-story mixed use building on Enterprise Drive near Cummings Research Park. And near is the key word. No building in the park itself, a haven for engineering firms, has multi-use designation.

While HQ at Upland Park will be neighbors to the businesses just west of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, it will consist of office, retail and restaurant space.

“It’s not in Cummings Research Park, it’s at the entrance of Cummings Research Park. That’s important because it’s unrestricted and the park does have restrictions,’’ said Kyle Collins, the former Jacksonville State and Auburn University running back who is a leasing agent for Colliers International as well as a developer located in Huntsville.

HQ is a site developed along with Vintage South. The 110,000-square foot project is a 60-acre community that will offer an outdoor gathering space that will be the focal point for the larger Upland Park master development.

According to a press release regarding the HQ project, Nicol Investment Company partnered with Nashville-based firm Vintage South Development.

“We are honored and excited to have the opportunity to partner with Nicol Investment in delivering a creative office and retail environment that is unique to Huntsville,” said Nathan Lyons, Vintage South’s founder and CEO. “The migration of national corporations and agencies flocking to this vibrant city as well as the organic growth of local businesses is remarkable, and we are eager to help facilitate Huntsville’s continued success.”

Construction is scheduled to complete in spring of 2023.

“Doster has a strong presence in the multi-family, industrial, and healthcare markets in North Alabama; we’re excited for the opportunity to show our capabilities in the commercial market while partnering with Nicol Investment and Vintage South,’’ said Conn Crabtree, Doster’s vice president and Huntsville Operations Manager. “This is a beautiful building with several unique design elements that is going to be well received in the community.”

“It’s a sixty-acre development that includes senior living and two large apartment complexes,’’ Collins said. “You can have food and beverage retail.’’
