WellStone announces mental health hiring event

July 11, 2022/in Employment, Career, Events, Health, Health Care, News, People, Workforce Development/by staff reports

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Do you want to be a part of building better access to mental healthcare across our state? Quality mental healthcare workers play a vital role in achieving this reality. WellStone, North Alabama’s nonprofit mental health center, is hosting a job fair on Friday, July  22, from 9am –4pm in hopes of filling dozens of vacant positions. The hiring event will be held at the main campus at 4040 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35802.

“One in four adults suffers from mental illness in any given year,” said Josaylon Henry, WellStone’s Chief Clinical Officer. “Therefore, staffing in the mental health care field is  extremely important to our organization and community. These positions assist individuals with  reaching and maintaining psychiatric well-being and thriving as productive citizens.”

July 22 Job Fair Social ShareWellStone serves up to 14,000 children, adolescents and adults every year. They offer 66 programs, including outpatient therapy and psychiatric services; group homes for individuals with severe mental illness (SMI); emergency services for those experiencing mental health crises; and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adolescents and adults with substance use disorders (SUDs); and more.

“At a time when demand for mental health services has dramatically increased, WellStone and  all behavioral health providers are experiencing a significant workforce shortage,” said Jeremy  Blair, WellStone CEO. “It is a great time to apply for a position with the largest behavioral health  provider in North Alabama to make a difference in lives we serve.”

Professional opportunities are available for RNs, LPNs and therapists. There are entry- and mid-level positions, as well. Hiring managers will be present to conduct onsite interviews, and may make contingent on-the-spot offers. Applicants should bring a resume. They can email christi.smith@wellstone.com for more information.
