Redstone Gateway to include major addition thanks to local partnership

Huntsville Hospital Health System and COPT Defense Properties (NYSE: CDP) have jointly confirmed that they will begin work later this year on a comprehensive primary care clinic at Redstone Gateway, a mixed-use development along Rideout Road near Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9.  Huntsville Hospital’s Physician Care-Redstone is expected to open in the summer of 2024.

“Providing a comprehensive and convenient clinic at Redstone Gateway is one of the key elements in helping address the primary care shortage in our community. No area of north Alabama is growing faster than Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville Hospital is proud to support the Army, NASA, FBI, and everyone at Team Redstone,” said Josh Hewiett, Senior Vice President of Physician Services for the Health System.

The Redstone Gateway development is a joint venture between COPT Defense and Jim Wilson & Associates. The project is a mixed-use development along Rideout Road near Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9. Upon completion, the Redstone Gateway will be comprised of 4.6 million square feet of space containing retail shops, restaurant locations, and eventually two full-service hotels.

The park’s existing amenities include a 120-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel, Ardent Pre-school & Daycare, and The Shops at Redstone Gateway—19,200 square feet of retail space, including three restaurants and conference center.

The Huntsville Hospital Health System addition plans to add to this impressive list of amenities at the Gateway.

“We are proud to welcome the newest location of Huntsville Hospital’s Physician Care to Redstone Gateway. This on-demand health care facility will be a welcomed amenity for the employees that work at the defense, aerospace, and research companies within the campus, as well as those on Redstone Arsenal,” said James Lomax, Vice President of Asset Management for COPT Defense Properties.

According to officials, when the facility is built out, it will occupy 10,000 square feet for physician and laboratory services at 6000 Redstone Gateway. Hewiett said that additional ancillary services would be added as needed.
