HudsonAlpha opens application for Biotrain Internship Program to undergraduate and graduate students

HUNTSVILLE, AL HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology (HudsonAlpha) is now accepting applications for its BioTrain internship program.

The summer program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to connect classwork with real‐world job experience and gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for careers in biotechnology and related fields.

This year’s nine-week internship begins May 28 and runs through June and July. The program accepts 25-30 interns each summer. Interns are paid a stipend and work from 20-30 hours per week while also participating in weekly professional development sessions. For the culmination of the internship program, students create and present posters that explain the work they accomplished during their internship.

Each internship opportunity is crafted with specific skill sets in mind and is open to participants based on their educational level and area of concentration.

Originally launched in Huntsville in 2009, the BioTrain Internship program is one of the longest-running programs at HudsonAlpha. Summer positions are available, providing experiences that range from in‐depth laboratory research to biotechnology marketing, communications, and business strategy.

Applications are open until Feb. 15.
