Millwood celebrates first anniversary of Huntsville facility, eyes further growth and community engagement

June 5, 2024/in Economy, Featured, Lead, Manufacturing, News, People, Small Business, Workforce Development/by Noah Logan

This week, Millwood, Inc. marked a significant milestone as the company commemorated one year since the inauguration of its pallet repair and manufacturing facility here in Huntsville.

Over the past year, the company has achieved substantial growth both internally and within the local community.

With a team of 17 members and ambitious plans for further development in 2024, Plant Manager Ward Brasseal expressed optimism about the future of the Millwood operation.

“We’re dedicated to nurturing the growth of our Huntsville facility while actively seeking avenues to strengthen our ties with the local community,” Brasseal stated.

Operating on a single shift schedule from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday-Friday, the Huntsville facility boasts a diverse workforce comprising saw operators, forklift operators, new build operators, repair operators, truck drivers, administrators, and managerial staff, all contributing to the company’s success.

In line with Millwood’s commitment to holistic employee support, the Huntsville location, like all other branches, is equipped with a dedicated chaplain who attends to the personal, professional, and spiritual needs of team members.

The Huntsville team’s efforts extend beyond the confines of the facility, as they actively serve several of Millwood’s customers in the region. Collaborating with Regional Operations Manager Joe Commodore, Brasseal is spearheading initiatives to enhance community integration.

“Connecting with the local community and government is paramount for us,” Commodore emphasized, highlighting the team’s participation in educational and outreach events.

In a recent endeavor, the team engaged in a wood waste processes presentation with community stakeholders and County Commissioners of Limestone County, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and community involvement.

Looking ahead, Brasseal reaffirmed Millwood’s dedication to corporate responsibility, from sponsoring local events to championing environmental initiatives.
