First Horizon Foundation awards $1.6 million in grants to 160 nonprofits across its footprint
First Horizon Corp. (NYSE: FHN), celebrating its 160th anniversary, has announced the recipients of its Grants for Good campaign.
After receiving over 3,500 applications, the First Horizon Foundation has awarded $1.6 million to 160 nonprofits that have significantly contributed to community development and stability.
“We are honored to recognize these outstanding nonprofit organizations through the Grants for Good campaign,” said Bryan Jordan, First Horizon Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. “Their dedication to uplifting those in need, fostering sustainable growth, and fortifying resilience through various initiatives is truly inspiring. We are proud to support these organizations that share our commitment to shaping a brighter tomorrow for our communities.”
First Horizon awarded grants to four local organizations:
- Village of Promise – Village of Promise is a Family Advancement Center founded in 2011 empowering families to break the cycle of poverty. Village of Promise uses a targeted, multigenerational approach that provides age-based and need-related programming so families can conquer challenges, achieve dreams, and contribute to their community.
- Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy – Fantasy Playhouse has been a leader in North Alabama since 1961 helping give students access to Arts Education. Students with arts education build self-confidence, express themselves better, learn how to work as part of a team, and are more likely to succeed academically.
- WellStone – WellStone is North Alabama’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider. They are a non-profit community organization that treats children, adolescents and adults who face mental illness, substance abuse and a broad range of obstacles to health and well-being.
- Russel Hill Cancer Foundation –Russel Hill Cancer Foundation was formed in May of 2006. The Foundation is committed to improving the health of North Alabama through the support of cancer research, cancer education efforts, and patient assistance.
Each of the 160 selected nonprofits will receive a $10,000 grant, chosen by a panel of First Horizon associates. The campaign was open to any 501(c)(3) organization eligible for funding from the First Horizon Foundation.
