Teledyne Brown Engineering wins $476M NASA contract

Teledyne Brown Engineering has been selected by NASA to provide Earth observation data and services under a new indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, with a potential value of up to $476 million.

The contract will support NASA’s Earth science research by offering cost-effective, commercial-sourced observation data.

Teledyne’s contribution will feature its Multi-User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES), a platform aboard the International Space Station (ISS) designed for precision Earth observation.

MUSES accommodates up to four instruments simultaneously and allows for robotic upgrades and servicing, providing flexibility for high-resolution imaging and data collection.

“We are proud to support NASA’s mission to monitor and enhance the planet for future generations,” said Scott Hall, President of Teledyne Brown Engineering. “Our platform delivers critical data for applications such as ocean monitoring, agriculture, forestry, and disaster response.”

MUSES currently hosts the Earth Sensing Imaging Spectrometer (DESIS), a hyperspectral imager developed in partnership with the German Aerospace Center.
