Tory Green, Green Research and Technology: Owner/President

May 15, 2026/in 2026, Community Development, Featured, Lead, News, Research, Success, Technology, Top 40/by Sarah Zupko

A former officer with the Huntsville Police Department and Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, Tory Green brings extensive experience in public safety and federal investigations. He serves as Vice President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tennessee Valley Board of Directors, supporting youth mentorship and community development initiatives. He is also the Founder and CEO of Green Research and Technology, leading innovative efforts in research-driven solutions and technology advancement.

What do you love most about living and working in Huntsville?

Living and working in Huntsville offers an exceptional quality of life, with family-friendly activities like hands-on exhibits at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and outdoor adventures at Monte Sano State Park. I also value the strong education opportunities, from highly-rated local schools to STEM-focused programs inspired by the city’s deep roots in innovation.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

Pursue what you love, even if it doesn’t seem practical at first. Passion can lead to fulfillment and success in ways you might not expect.

By reflecting on these lessons, you can cultivate a more fulfilling and authentic life, both for yourself and as guidance for others.

What motivates you on hard days?

On hard days, I am motivated by the obstacles in life that I have overcome by the Grace of God and the assistance of the Huntsville community.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Spending time with my three daughters. Doing different activities with them throughout the city makes our evenings and weekends eventful.

How do you like to give back to the community, and why is it important to you?

I currently serve as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tennessee Valley and am a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. I also support several initiatives through United Way. Having personally benefited from programs like these, I understand firsthand the meaningful and lasting impact they can have on the lives of young people.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors and positive influences in my life—far too many to name individually. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and for me, Huntsville has truly been that village.
