June 26, 2026/in Arts, Awards, Featured, Lead, News, Recreation, Tourism, Travel/Leisure/by staff reports

Maybe Huntsville ought to modify its nickname to the “Rock it City.”

According to the latest rankings from Pollstar, Huntsvillians are definitely enjoying the sounds of music – particularly at the Orion Amphitheater.

The four-year-old venue in Huntsville’s MidCity District is rocketing toward the top of the charts in Pollstar‘s prestigious Mid-Year Top Grossing and Top Ticket Sales rankings.

The Orion ranked No. 8 worldwide by gross ticket sales and No. 10 worldwide by tickets sold in the rankings from Pollstar, the live entertainment industry’s leading trade publication.

“Our continued growth is a testament to the incredible support of the fans, the trust of our artist and promoter partners, and the dedication of our team,” said Orion General Manager Alex Craig. “We’re proud to continue elevating Huntsville’s presence on the global live entertainment stage while delivering unforgettable experiences for our community.”

Subheading 1

The annual mid-year rankings recognize the world’s top-performing amphitheaters based on gross ticket revenue and tickets sold reported between Nov. 13, 2025, and May 13, 2026.

It is the Orion’s highest-ever placement in the rankings, marking another milestone for the venue which has been recognized by Billboard, Pollstar, IEBA, VenuesNow and Fast Company for its programming, sustainability and guest experience.

Since opening in 2022, the 8,000-capacity Orion has consistently ranked among Pollstar’s top-performing amphitheaters worldwide, earned recognition from Billboard as one of the world’s leading music venues, and was recently named Best Amphitheater in Alabama Magazine‘s Best of Bama Awards for a fourth consecutive year.

With a robust slate of concerts, festivals, and community programming still ahead this year, the Orion remains committed to bringing world-class live entertainment to North Alabama while serving as a year-round gathering place for the Huntsville community.
