Deltek Returns to Huntsville in Big Ways

Deltek, the leading global provider of software and solutions for project-based businesses, recently joined over 2,500 cyber professionals here in Huntsville at the National Cyber Summit (NCS) to focus on education, collaboration, and innovation in cyber security.

The National Cyber Summit is the nation’s most innovative cyber security technology event. It offers unique educational, collaborative and workforce development opportunities for industry visionaries and rising leaders. The NCS has a history of bringing together senior attendees from commercial and defense companies as well as healthcare, automotive, government industries and cyber professional from across the nation.

Throughout the conference, Deltek industry and product experts made it a point to play hands-on roles with demo solutions, while also answering questions in the Deltek booth. Additionally, on the evening of the 21st, Deltek’s Vice President of Product for Cloud, Compliance, and Security, Chris Knight hosted a discussion on navigating the GovCon cybersecurity compliance landscape.

“Cybercrime is on the rise and bad actors are moving faster than ever. As the industry is pushed to implement more security and compliance requirements like CMMC, NIST, and FedRAMP, it is critical for firms to understand the potential impacts to their business and how to best prepare,” said Knight.

Knight’s session was designed to help attendees understand how better to prepare their business moving forward: why cybersecurity is becoming more important for government contractors, what the Federal Government is doing about the increased threats and how to translate the cybersecurity “alphabet soup” – CMMC, NIST 800 series, FedRAMP, etc.

“When we spend more time with local community and businesses in Huntsville, we walk away more informed. The importance of this event can’t be underestimated by the GovCon community. Educating yourself and your firm and staying up to date on the latest tech are critical for a company’s cyber strategy,” concluded Knight.

Deltek knows how critical the Huntsville area is for government contracting and cybersecurity and we were thrilled to be back in person to sponsor this year’s National Cyber Summit event.”, said Director, Public Relations & Analyst Relations Dawn Couch.

“Prior to that event, Deltek also participated in the NeoSystem’s Huntsville CMMC Day event. Both events were a huge success, and we were pleasantly surprised at the attendance and participation from not only local companies and luminaries, but also from the industry leaders who traveled to the area that week.”

While Deltek’s return to Huntsville has been incredibly exciting for attendees of The National Cyber Summit, the company also touched based again this week with the Huntsville community to promote the many exciting upcoming opportunities regarding their efforts for the Gov community.

“Beyond the in-person events in Huntsville, we are constantly engaging government contracting firms in the area. We recently announced a series of reports and webinars that examines leading federal contracting opportunities for each fiscal year, intended to help government sellers become more educated on top opportunities”, Dawn Couch shared with the Huntsville Business Journal.

Deltek approaches the launch of one of those upcoming opportunities, as Couch mentioned, as they have announced the research to unveil Top Federal Contracting Opportunities for 2023. They are set to reveal their 50 most impactful Federal Government contracting opportunities for the 2023 fiscal year in the upcoming webinar series, ‘Top Federal Opportunities for FY 2023.’

This is an annual webinar for Deltek, with the latest edition of the report series including analysis of the top 20 unrestricted federal opportunities. Additionally, Deltek says the webinar will include the top 10 list in:

  • Federal set-aside opportunities
  • Federal professional services opportunities
  • Federal AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) opportunities

“Top Opportunities is a series of reports and webinars that examines leading federal contracting opportunities for each fiscal year and is intended to help government sellers become more educated,” explains Deltek in a recent statement. “Top Opportunities is produced on an annual basis by the Deltek Federal Market Analysis team and leverages data drawn from Deltek’s GovWin IQ database of federal government contracting opportunities. The list of opportunities considered for the top 50 have estimated solicitation dates in FY 2023 and will be selected by Deltek’s team of expert analysts, based on either the total expected contract value or the anticipated ceiling value.”

GovWin’s Top Federal Opportunities webinars will begin after the start of the 2023 fiscal year:

  • Top 20 Unrestricted Federal Opportunities for FY 2023: October 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM ET, hosted by Carey Webster, Deltek’s Senior Director, Research and Jen Sakole, Deltek’s Senior Manager, Research
  • Top 10 Federal Set-Aside Opportunities for FY 2023: October 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM ET, hosted by Kathleen Sievers, Deltek’s Senior Manager, Research
  • Top 10 Professional Services Opportunities for FY 2023: October 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM ET, hosted by Shadi Shakibai, Deltek’s Senior Manager, Research
  • Top 10 Federal AEC Opportunities for FY 2023: October 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM ET, hosted by Rachel Doherty, Deltek’s Senior Manager, Research

According to Deltek, a series of reports aligning with each of the four federal government sectors covered in the webinar series will be released later in October.

Deltek’s research has found that while federal government spending has continued to remain stable or grow in many sectors, consolidation has continued to be a major factor in the federal government, particularly in the cases of government-wide contracts such as those managed by the General Services Administration (GSA).

As spending remains high, the number of opportunities for businesses to serve as primes on major opportunities decreases, it will become increasingly important for government sellers to research and properly identify the best-fit opportunities.

“GovWin has a long history of providing detailed analysis of these valuable contract opportunities, and our best-in-class research analysts have spent countless hours vetting these opportunities to provide the broadest and deepest opportunity research in the government contracting marketplace,” said Kevin Plexico, Senior Vice President of Information Solutions for Deltek.

“We know contractors in all industries, including those based in Huntsville, can use this analysis to help shape their strategy for FY 2023,” Plexico concluded.
