February 25, 2022/in Events, Food, Food/dining, News, Recreation, Sports, Travel/Leisure/by Mike Easterling

MADISON – The Rocket City Trash Pandas will begin selling single-game tickets for the upcoming season on Saturday.

Despite the current Major League Baseball owners’ lockout, Minor League Baseball is unaffected since players who are not on any MLB team’s 40-man roster are non-union.

The 2022 Trash Pandas season begins Friday, April 8 at Birmingham before the home opener at Toyota Field on Tuesday, April 12 against Pensacola.

Saturday, single-game home tickets can be purchased at the Wicks Family Foundation Ticket Office at 9 a.m., before going on sale online at 1 p.m. at trashpandasbaseball.com.

Previously purchased single-game ticket vouchers can be redeemed in-person for tickets to a specific 2022 Trash Pandas home game (excluding Opening Day on April 12). All tickets are subject to availability.

Tickets to Rocket City’s final four canceled games of the 2021 season (Sept. 16-19) can be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any home game in April or May (excluding Opening Day on April 12), also subject to availability.

Fans purchasing tickets in-person on Saturday can experience the team’s 2022 season theme of Have A Blast. There will be activities, food, and prizes available.

On the concourse inside Toyota Field, guests can test their skills with free inflatable baseball and basketball games. Special activities for children include a bouncy castle with a slide, a balloon artist, and a face painter. All inflatables will be open until 12, while the balloon artist and face painter will be on hand until 11.

All children’s activities are open at no cost. Trash Pandas mascots will be available for photos throughout the day.

The Junkyard Team Store will also be open throughout the day with new merchandise available. Tha Food Truck will be on hand at the Bill Penney Plaza with a selection of steak sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, and fries available for purchase.
