Registration Now Open for Team Redstone’s Advance Planning Briefings to Industry

March 10, 2022/in Defense, Economy, Events, Featured, Military, News, Small Business/by Dawn Suiter

Team Redstone and the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) announced this week that registration has opened for Team Redstone’s 2022 Center of Excellence Advance Planning Briefings to Industry (APBI), which will be held from March 22-24.

Due to ongoing pandemic restrictions, this year’s event will again be hosted virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The theme for 2022 is “Government-Industry Partnering to Support Large-Scale Combat Operations.” This annual event provides a forum for information exchange and discussion between industry, academia, and Team Redstone government agencies.

According to Eric Lampkin, AMCOM’s ombudsman and the event coordinator, the secretary of the Army seeks to establish ‘a sustainable strategic path’ in order to compete with Russia and China.

“Accordingly, the Army modernization efforts and our ability to provide our warfighters with new advanced capabilities rely heavily on our industry partnerships,” Lampkin said. “This year’s theme reflects our collaborative efforts to stay ahead of our near-peer competitors.”

The APBI provides transparency in acquisition strategies by providing long-range technology and capability development objectives to its industry partners as well as information on potential business opportunities available with Team Redstone organizations.

“APBI helps enable readiness,” said Maj. Gen. Todd Royar, AMCOM commander. “The earlier we can forecast our requirements out to industry, the better and quicker will be their responses, thus enabling us to have the right part or service available to warfighters at the right time.”

Featured speakers will include Gen. Edward Daly, commander of U.S. Army Materiel Command. Briefings will focus on Team Redstone’s core technical capabilities, acquisition needs, and future opportunities. Redstone leaders and subject matter experts will deliver presentations via Microsoft Teams with question-and-answer sessions to follow.

A matchmaking event will take place on March 23 from 1 to 4 p.m., allowing small businesses the opportunity to meet with federal agencies to learn about specific contracting and subcontracting opportunities. In addition to the U.S. Army Materiel Command and AMCOM, other government agencies within a 50-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal plan to participate in this event.

AMCOM’s participation includes AMCOM headquarters; the AMCOM Logistics Center; the Security Assistance Management Directorate; the U.S. Army Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Activity; Corpus Christi Army Depot, Texas; Letterkenny Army Depot, Pennsylvania; and the Army Contracting Command-Redstone.

For more information on the APBI, contact the AMCOM ombudsman at eric.d.lampkin.civ@mail.mil. Event registration is now open at https://conference.redstone.army.mil/. For information on the matchmaking event, please contact Dr. Anntronett Washington at anntronett.c.washington.civ@army.mil.
