BIRMINGHAM, AL – Momentum, Alabama’s premier leadership organization dedicated to empowering the state’s female leaders, announced the roster for its inaugural executive leadership class in The Rocket City. The program originated in Birmingham and has graduated more than 550 women executives across many industries.

“Over the course of 20 years working to develop women leaders in Birmingham, Momentum has created a network of very strong and talented women,” said April Benetollo, CEO of Momentum.  “With the explosive growth in Huntsville, we are extending our impact to Northern Alabama to ensure that women have an equal opportunity in shaping the future of the Tennessee Valley.”

The new class members met for the first time during orientation on June 28th and classes will kick off with a retreat in September. The Huntsville class will follow the same rigorous nine-month program of personal and professional development that has been the hallmark of the organization since its inception in 2002.

Members of the inaugural class are:

  • Jenny Askins with Destination Huntsville
  • Bailey Laurel with Industrial Properties of the South
  • Veronica Cram with InSight Strategic Solutions
  • Tina Davis with Northrop Grumman Corporation
  • Mindy Finafrock with PeopleTec
  • Ashley Garrison with Missile Defense Agency
  • Carolyn Henderson with Drake State Community and Technical College
  • Angela Holmes with Missile Defense Agency
  • Stephanie Kelley with The Schools Foundation
  • Melissa Marty with Huntsville Utilities
  • Paige Nix with Radiance Technologies
  • Sarah Savage-Jones with Huntsville Hospital Foundation
  • Connie Spears with the City of Madison
  • Kathi Tew with Baron Critical Weather Institute
  • Laura Tynan with the Missile Defense Agency
  • Ashley Young with BlueHalo.

The Momentum mission has always been to advance women’s leadership throughout the state of Alabama,” continued Benetollo.

“We are thrilled to bring our program to the Huntsville Madison County area, where it will be a great compliment to programs like Leadership Greater Huntsville and professional associations like the Women’s Economic Development Council. We look forward to working with the community to ensure equitable opportunities for all women leaders.”
