HAAR to Host Military Relocation Professional Certification Courses

October 14, 2022/in Community Development, Economy, Events, Featured, Housing, Lead, News, Real Estate/by Marie Johnson

The Huntsville Area Association of Realtors (HAAR) has announced that it will be hosting two courses to certify North Alabama realtors as Military Relocation Professionals (MRP). The National Association of Realtors created MRP certification to train realtors in navigating the specific needs of military clients, both active duty and retired.

The first course will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 9am to 4pm, at Madison’s Trash Pandas Stadium. A second course will be held at Gunter’s Landing in Guntersville the following day, also from 9am to 4pm.

The courses will educate realtors in such areas as understanding military relocation procedures, market demography on service members, and informing clients about VA financing and eligibility.

“Realtors with an MRP certification ensure their veteran clients are taking advantage of the programs and benefits they can access in the homebuying process,” said HAAR President Isaac Winkles. “We recommend any buyer or seller hire a realtor professional, and that’s especially important for our veterans relocating to North Alabama.”

According to the Census Department, there were over 32,000 military veterans living in Madison County in 2020, and that number is only expected to grow.
