Department of Defense Contract Review: December 27 – January 06

This series from the Huntsville Business Journal covers Department of Defense (DoD) contracts awarded to Huntsville-Madison County and Alabama businesses. Every two weeks, the Huntsville Business Journal provides you with an update to the various military contracts that local and state businesses are awarded. This entry covers contracts listed on the Department of Defense daily postings from Tuesday, December 27th – Friday, January 6th.

For this time period, there were seven contracts listed on the Department of Defense daily postings for Huntsville and Alabama based companies totaling around $181,509,467.

The businesses listed below may or may not be located in Huntsville but work directly with their contracting activity located in Rocket City, hence their inclusion in the article.

  • Army:

Raytheon Co., Andover, Massachusetts, was awarded a $30,145,170 fixed-price incentive contract for the procurement of PATRIOT post deployment build hardware updates and Multifunctional Distribution System Block Upgrade 2. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received.

Work will be performed in Andover, Massachusetts, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2027. Fiscal 2023 Foreign Military Sales (Republic of Korea) funds in the amount of $30,145,170 were obligated at the time of the award. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity (W31P4Q-23-C-0019).

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, was awarded a $75,074,676 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for contractor logistics support for Gray Eagle Block 0.

Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Poway, California, with an estimated completion date of June 28, 2025. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-23-C-0010).

Lockheed Martin Corp., Grand Prairie, Texas, was awarded a $31,817,000 modification (P00072) to contract W31P4Q-20-C-0023 to incrementally increase the annual award of Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target Advanced Capability-3 missiles.

Work will be performed in five locations, including Huntsville, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2024. Fiscal 2023 Foreign Military Sales (Bahrain, Kuwait, Netherlands, Poland and Qatar) funds in the amount of $15,590,330 were obligated at the time of the award. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Keysight Technologies Inc., Colorado Springs, Colorado, was awarded a $15,329,600 firm-fixed-price contract to acquire microwave measuring receivers.

Bids were solicited via the internet with two received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 28. 2027. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity (W31P4Q-23-D-0008).

Torch Technologies Inc., Huntsville, Alabama, was awarded a $10,668,279 modification (P00042) to contract W31P4Q-21-F-0054 to provide various types of simulation support to the Systems Simulation Software and Integration Directorate, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of March 27, 2024. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Amentum Services Inc., Germantown, Maryland, was awarded a $10,000,000 modification (P00255) to contract W58RGZ-19-C-0025 for aviation maintenance services.

Work will be performed in Iraq, with an estimated completion date of March 3, 2023. Fiscal 2023 operation and maintenance, Army funds in the amount of $10,000,000 were obligated at the time of the award. 

U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining, Blairsville, Pennsylvania, was awarded an $8,474,742 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to develop auxiliary power units for tactical wheeled or tracked vehicles and stationary power generation.

Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Blairsville, Pennsylvania, with an estimated completion date of Jan. 2, 2025.
