MADISON, AL — Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) will say good-bye next month to a founding member of its Leadership Steering Committee, Senior Vice President Janette Hostettler. Hostettler served as Vice President of Manufacturing since MTM’s start in 2018, before being promoted to SVP in 2022.

Hostettler started her career with Toyota in 2000 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana. Senior Vice President Janette Hostettler, who joined Mazda Toyota Manufacturing’s North Alabama center in 2018, will be moving to Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky

“I am very honored to join the TMMK team, but I will miss my MTM family tremendously, “ said  Hostettler. “I remember a warm welcome by Mayor Battle, Chip Cherry and Secretary Canfield during  the groundbreaking ceremony and since then, have made Huntsville my home. The team members and  this community has been a huge blessing for me and my family for 5 years, and I will always hold a  special place in my heart for it.”

Filling her role at MTM, Fernandes returns to North Alabama after serving as President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, where the Toyota Corolla is assembled. Fernandes has 24 years of  experience at Toyota, including serving as Senior Vice President at Toyota South Africa Motors and  President at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Alabama.

“I worked with a phenomenal team at Toyota Mississippi,” Fernandes offered. “I’m excited to take on new challenges at Mazda Toyota Manufacturing and also return to the Huntsville community, which is very dear to my heart.”

Hostettler was inducted into the Women in Manufacturing Hall of Fame on September 26, 2023,  alongside her MTM family at an event honoring her and other HoF inductees. Both Hostettler and  Fernandes will transition into their new roles in October of 2023.
