What do you love most about living and working in Huntsville?

Huntsville is unique in that it’s still a small town while also growing at a rapid pace. I love getting to be part of the future while building community with others around the city.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

“Don’t think that the next step has to be the final destination.” Every time a new opportunity arises, it will lead you to something you didn’t know was possible, so stay open to what all is out there.

What motivates you on hard days?

Taking a step back and realizing I get to do what I love, in a place close to home, and make a living doing it. That’s a blessing.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

Family is the primary focus. We attend a good number of sporting events, live theatre, and concerts. Also a good night out in town and some travel when there’s time.

How do you like to give back to the community, and why is it important to you?

I’ve worked with the American Legion’s Boys State program for over 20 years, giving back to the young leaders of the state. I’m involved with my local American Legion Post and serve in lay leadership at Huntsville First UMC

What’s your “why don’t we have this yet?” business idea for Huntsville?

I’m not the “new idea” guy. But I will say Huntsville is full of small business owners and entrepreneurs I’m happy to call on regularly. The small town/big city vibe is possible because we have such a supportive business community.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career, and what valuable lesson did they teach you?

There are too many individuals to name, but I’ve had many leaders who saw something in me and invested their time in me to develop skills and foster leadership attributes. The common theme was always the willingness to sacrifice to help me grow in my career.
