Defense contract roundup: Avion Solutions wins $87.2M Army contract
A Huntsville small business tops this week’s list of defense contracts with its $87.2 million contract from the Army.
Avion Solutions received the $87,223,150 firm-fixed-price contract for engineering and program management services. The Army Contracting Command on Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity.
The company was recently named the 2026 Employee-Owned Company of the Year by the Southeast Chapter of The Employee Stock Ownership Plan Association.
Other contract winners are:
- AeroVironment was awarded a $500 million firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of commercial counter-unmanned aerial systems and counter small-unmanned aerial systems capabilities. The estimated completion date is June 29, 2029.
- Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation – Phoenix was awarded a $11,738,265 firm-fixed-price contract for access control, badging, and mail. Work will be performed on Redstone Arsenal. The Army Contracting Command on Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity

- DigiFlight Inc. was awarded a $13,617,521 contract modification for integrated logistics services in support of the Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office. - Science Applications International Corp. was awarded a $45,909,779 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for non-commercial engineering services. The estimated completion date is June 30, 2027. The Army Contracting Command on Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity
- Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control was awarded a $347.5 million cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for development, fabrication and testing of improvements to prototype air and missile defense systems. - L3Harris Technologies Integrated Systems was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a maximum amount of $499,573,000. The contractor will provide support for the Missile Defense Agency Flight Test Airborne Sensors program. These efforts will continue operations and sustainment of the flight test ABS aircraft and sensor equipment, mission planning and flight test execution, and Improvement and Modernization efforts. The Missile Defense Agency on Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity.
- Corvid Technologies was awarded a $9,250,500 Navy contract modification to a previously awarded contract for the design, manufacture, and delivery of short/medium range sub-orbital vehicle configurations, including provision of ground test hardware, special test equipment, materials and required engineering support and launch support services.
- Leidos is being awarded a $27,202,497 contract modification for the procurement of All Up Rounds for the AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile program in support of U.S. Special Operations Command .The work will be performed in Huntsville and is expected to be completed by Feb. 26, 2029.
- Lockheed Martin was awarded a $502,381,686 hybrid (cost-no-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price) contract by the Army for post-production support services for Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sight systems supporting AH-64 helicopters fielded worldwide through international agreements.
