Huntsville’s Department of Defense Contracts Review: July 11-15

This series from the Huntsville Business Journal covers DoD contracts awarded to Huntsville-Madison County businesses. Each week, the Huntsville Business Journal will provide you with an update to the various military contracts that local businesses are awarded. This entry covers contracts listed on the Department of Defense daily postings from Monday July 11th – Friday July 15th.

For this week, there were a total of three contracts listed on the Department of Defense daily postings for Huntsville based companies totaling right around $400,000,000. The largest of these contracts went to Raytheon Co. for their work with lower tier air and missile defense sensor radars. 

  • Army:

Raytheon Co. was awarded a $353,930,171 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to procure additional lower tier air and missile defense sensor radar prototypes.  Bids were solicited via the internet with two received. Work will be performed in Huntsville at the Redstone Arsenal. Army funds in the amount of $104,805,154 were obligated at the time of the award (W9124P-19-9-0001). 

Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, Stratford, Connecticut, was awarded a $7,591,514 firm-fixed-price contract for overhaul and repair of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2027. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-22-D-0047).

Lockheed Martin and Missiles and Fire Control was awarded a $39,676,197 modification) to contract W31P4Q-18-C-0130 to procure electromechanical control actuation systems. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 29, 2024. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
