WellStone announces hiring event to support critical community need

HUNTSVILLE, AL – According to the National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation, a shortage of mental health care workers continues across the US. It’s a national situation that is affecting the mental health landscape right here in the Tennessee Valley.

Following this news, Wellstone has announced a Spring Hiring Event on Friday, March 8, from 9am–4pm at its main campus at 4040 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35802

A career in mental health can be extremely rewarding. Each employee has the opportunity to provide hope and healing to individuals who are hurting.

“Mental health remains the number one health concern in Alabama, yet growing our workforce to meet the increasing demand is our biggest challenge,” said WellStone CEO Jeremy Blair. “We are working very hard on creating competitive benefits packages, including sign on bonuses for nurses, to provide the care our clients deserve, particularly for those in crisis.”

WellStone is hiring for all positions, including RNs, LPNs, case managers, therapists, techs, peer support specialists, and more. Entry- and mid-level positions are available, along with full- and part-time options.

Hiring managers will be on hand at the event to conduct interviews and may make on-the-spot offers, contingent upon positive background check results.

Applicants are encouraged to resume and can apply for positions beforehand. Candidates can visit wellstone.com for a full list of career opportunities.

WellStone, North Alabama’s mental healthcare leader, served 12,000 adolescents, and adults last year through more than 75 programs, such as outpatient therapy and psychiatric services; group homes for individuals with severe mental illness (SMI); intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adolescents and adults with substance use disorders (SUDs), and inpatient treatment for adults at its new River Valley Recovery Center.

In 2022, WellStone also provided more than $4 million in uncompensated care.
