Buffalo Rock eyes new facilities and investments after winning 2024 Bottler of the Year Award

Buffalo Rock Company, the nation’s largest single-family, privately-owned Pepsi® and Keurig Dr Pepper® bottler, has been recognized as Beverage Industry’s 2024 Bottler of the Year.

This award highlights Buffalo Rock’s dedication to maintaining high standards in beverage production and distribution.

Serving regions across Alabama, western Georgia, and the Florida panhandle, the company is synonymous with delivering renowned beverage brands with dependable service.

CEO and President Matthew Dent expressed gratitude for the award, attributing it to the hard work and dedication of the Buffalo Rock team.

“We’re extremely honored to be named Beverage Industry’s Bottler of the Year,” Dent said. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, who continually uphold our core values and go above and beyond to serve our customers and communities.”

Dent highlighted the company’s investment in new facilities and technologies, positioning Buffalo Rock for continued success in the market.

“Going back to 2018, 2019 at that time we decided to launch a full investment across our total infrastructure and it was going to be in multiple phases, as of right now we’re about halfway through that,” Dent said.

One facet of this infrastructure investment plan included a new $32 million distribution center that opened in Huntsville in June 2022. The facility replaced the company’s current distribution center on Old Madison Pike Road while helping Buffalo Rock to continue their company goal of growing their portfolio and providing better service to their customers.

Dent noted that in 2022, Buffalo Rock moved into seven new facilities and the investment project is about halfway through completion. He added that the bottler is working on two ground-breaking facilities this year.

Emily Cotney, Senior Vice President, Chief Employee Experience Officer, and Legal Counsel at Buffalo Rock, emphasized the importance of investing in people and tools to achieve the company’s purpose.

“Our priority is to invest in people and tools that help us achieve our purpose,” she said. “Building brands is important, but accomplishing it through legendary service and remarkable people is how we want to do it.”

Buffalo Rock’s commitment extends beyond its internal operations to the communities it serves. The company also tries to help support the communities they do business in through initiatives such as the annual United Way campaign.

”The strategic growth of Buffalo Rock is driven by our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers and communities,” Dent explained. “Through investments in infrastructure and talent development, we are laying the foundation for a future marked by continued excellence and innovation.”
