Huntsville quarterly Music Meetup to showcase upcoming initiatives and events

March 14, 2024/in Arts, Community Development, Entertainment, Events, Featured, Lead, News, People, Tourism/by Laura Boehringer

Excitement is building in Huntsville’s vibrant music community as the city gears up for the HSV Quarterly Music Meetup scheduled for Tuesday, March 19.

Set to take place at Mars Music Hall at Von Braun Center from 6-8 p.m., this free event promises to be a gathering of musicians, stakeholders, and music enthusiasts alike. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and network while enjoying concessions available for purchase.

Hosted by Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella and members of Huntsville’s Music Board, the meetup serves as a platform to preview the upcoming year in local music. Mandrella highlighted several key events on the horizon, including the Women’s Expo (March 22-24), Panoply (April 26-28), Make Music Day (June 21), and Huntsville Music Month (September), all of which offer ample opportunities to support Huntsville’s thriving music scene.

One standout initiative gaining traction is the Music Ambassador Program (MAP), which has provided financial support to over a dozen touring artists based in the Huntsville area. Mandrella emphasized the significance of local artists representing the city on a national stage.

“There’s no better ambassador than a touring musician from your city who is quickly rocketing to stardom,” remarked Mandrella.

Additionally, anticipation is high for Huntsville’s first major music festival, set to take place in John Hunt Park and produced by renowned festival producer C3 Presents. While details for the festival are still being finalized, Mandrella expressed optimism that more information will be forthcoming.

The HSV Quarterly Music Meetup promises to be an evening of camaraderie, collaboration, and celebration of Huntsville’s thriving music community, showcasing the city’s commitment to fostering musical talent and cultural enrichment.
