Duotech Services has officially opened a new 25,000-square-foot facility in Huntsville, representing a $4 million investment and plans to create 50 jobs over the next several years.

Company leaders joined state and local officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location in Research Park on August 6.

The expansion extends Duotech’s operations beyond its headquarters in Franklin, North Carolina, and places the company closer to the defense programs and industry partners based at Redstone Arsenal.

For more than 40 years, Duotech has repaired, tested, and remanufactured mission-critical electronic systems used on military platforms worldwide. Its capabilities include rapid diagnostics, component-level repair, and the development of custom automated testing solutions.

Duotech CEO Dan Bader said the marriage of Huntsville’s strong presence in the defense industry and his company’s work played an important role in the company’s decision to establish a presence in the city.

“As missile and missile defense programs continue to expand across Redstone Arsenal, the need for precision sustainment and advanced test capability has never been greater,” Bader noted.

Bader continued, “Our unique blend of deep electronics expertise, automated test development, and high velocity sustainment positions Duotech to directly support these platforms and strengthen the broader defense ecosystem here in Huntsville.”

Zach McGovern, external relations officer, City of Huntsville, said Duotech’s move to the Rocket City is a confirmation of what’s possible when local government, the Huntsville/Madison Chamber of Commerce, the Alabama Chamber of Commerce, and state leaders work together to create an environment where companies can grow, invest, and succeed.

“The spirit of collaboration is one of Huntsville’s greatest strengths, and it continues to set our community apart,” McGovern said.

McGovern continued, “Every expansion like this creates opportunity for Huntsville families through quality jobs, career growth, and long-term investment in our local economy.”

Madison County Commission Chairman Ronald “Rex” Vaughn pointed to the company’s additional capabilities beyond just repairing and servicing existing systems.

“The fact that you not only repair and service, but also manufacture all these elements for our warfighter is tremendous. Thank you for choosing North Alabama and Huntsville,” Vaughn said.

Duotech is a Bernhard Capital Partners portfolio company. Brian Ferraioli, an operating partner from Bernhard, is also Duotech’s chairman of the board of directors.

Ferraioli said the firm initially considered Huntsville because of the concentration of technology-focused companies in the area.

“When we first saw that Duotech was going to outgrow its existing facilities, we immediately set our sights on Huntsville given its technology-focused companies located here. When we arrived, the cooperation we received from the city, from the county, and from the state, as well as the chamber of commerce, was truly outstanding, which resulted in the $4 million investment that you see here today,” Ferraioli said.

Ferraioli also said the new facility is intended to be the beginning of Duotech’s continued growth in the community.

“Our goal isn’t merely to fill this facility with new work supporting the men and women in uniform. Our goal is to continue to grow so that the expansion you see today is just the first of more investments to come,” Ferraioli stated.
