NeXolve’s Polymer Film Material Blasting Off Through Innovate Alabama Grant

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Innovate Alabama awarded NeXolve Holding Company a grant to further the development of new material for polymer films used in space.

The Innovate Alabama grant allows NeXolve to capitalize on the material development results from their Phase II SBIR and enhance their manufacturing capabilities in North Alabama. The new material has 2021 04 19 st sbir processalready shown impressive results, proving major improvements to polymer films that are used in space for thermal control, deployable antennae, solar arrays, and other applications.

“We are incredibly thankful for the Innovate Alabama Grant. This grant will be used to accelerate and continue the growth of our advanced materials product line. This funding will allow us to focus on improving our materials offerings and developing the infrastructure needed to continue and accelerate this growth,” said Jim Moore, NeXolve President.

The innovative material was initially developed in 2018 under the Federal Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). This grant enables the development of several different versions of the material and will initiate improvements for NeXolve’s manufacturing capabilities. The company’s hope is to increase its production and provide its innovative aerospace materials even more efficiently.
