Launch Tank competition returns to North Alabama, offering entrepreneurs $25,000 funding opportunity
HUNTSVILLE, AL – Entrepreneurs in North Alabama have a chance to turn their business dreams into reality as Launch, in collaboration with Singing River Trail, officially opens applications for the third annual Launch Tank competition.
Set to unfold at the Space Camp Operations Center located within the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, the Singing River Trail Launch Tank presents a platform for regional entrepreneurs to pitch their business concepts in a format reminiscent of the popular TV show “Shark Tank.”
With the goal of fostering innovation and providing critical support to emerging ventures, the competition offers up to $25,000 in non-dilutive funding for winning participants.
Lisa Mays, Co-Chair of Launch Tank and CEO of the Catalyst Center, expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative effort behind the initiative.
“The Singing River Trail Launch Tank embodies the power of regional collaboration. Through this event, we’re not only backing entrepreneurs; we’re empowering them to shape the trajectory of North Alabama’s future,” said Mays.
Michelle Epling, also Co-Chair of Launch Tank and Executive Director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce, echoed Mays’ sentiments, emphasizing the significance of collective support in driving the growth and vitality of the North Alabama community.
“North Alabama isn’t just a geographical location; it’s a shared vision,” said Epling. “The comprehensive assistance provided through the Launch Tank competition distinguishes our region as a hub for innovation and progress.”
Open to residents within the expansive footprint of the Singing River Trail, encompassing eight counties including Jackson, Marshall, Madison, Limestone, Morgan, Lawrence, Lauderdale, and Colbert Counties, the competition seeks to nurture entrepreneurial talent across the region.
John Kvach, Executive Director of the Singing River Trail, underscored the broader vision of the competition, emphasizing its role in fostering connectivity and positive transformation within the North Alabama community.

Applications for the Launch Tank 2024 competition are now open and will continue to be accepted until March 31, 2024. Finalists will be unveiled on April 12, 2024, leading up to the live pitching event scheduled for April 29, 2024, at the Space Camp Operations Center within the US Space & Rocket Center.
